My approach to teaching is “Healthy singing first!” No matter what your age or the style of music, I believe you must discover a healthy vocal production first and foremost. As you move on in your lessons and different repertoire, your understanding of your vocal instrument grows and you learn how to really make music with your sound. I believe that every voice is unique and that each student has their own gift to offer. No two lessons are alike as they are designed to move forward at the pace of each individual’s talents and capabilities. I also make it a point to help each singer feel confident in their entire presentation with healthy singing, great acting & performance presentation and correct styles and musical choices. I adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of each student. There should always be joy at the heart of singing and music learning!
I am here to help you learn how to present yourself at your best. I have a very truth-based approach to singing and performance. I work very hard at establishing a supportive, encouraging and empowering environment in which we both can work together to help you achieve your highest potential as a singer. I expect you to bring to the table what you would like to grow into from one week to the next. Please have this in mind for short and long term goals for yourself as a singer – no matter what level.
I recommend that you commit to weekly lessons if you are hoping to develop your vocal instrument, confidence level and knowledge of singing and performing. Remember, you get out of it what you put into it.
If you are a parent considering me as a voice teacher for your teenager, please send me an email with any questions and we’ll get the conversation started. I will have questions for you, too. Everyone develops so differently. I will need to speak with you individually about your child’s current musical background and much more.
